About the role:
This role is responsible for implementing the Victoria Police related recommendations from the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System (RCVMHS). The role involves managing the Mental Health Reform project team and liaising closely with the Mental Health Community Portfolio manager. The role's immediate focus will be the introduction of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act, in particular care and control and Recommendation 10 of the RCVMHS. The position reports to the Superintendent Coordination Division.

Your duties will include:
1. Liaising closely with the Mental Health Community Portfolio manager
2. Managing the project team
3. Engaging with internal and external stakeholders
4. Preparing project documentation and managing risk
5. Developing policy and process positions
6. Briefing executives to gain approval for policy positions
7. Engaging with other areas and Departments to implement cultural and process changes
As the successful applicant, you will have:
8. People management skills
9. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
10. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
11. Excellent communication skills, particularly written communication
12. Experience in change management
13. Interest in implementing social justice reforms
14. Understanding of the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System
15. Resilience in working in a challenging reform area
Requirements and relevant information:
16. One (1) x full-time, fixed term to 30 December 2024 position available.
17. This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
18. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
