About the Opportunity
This position is within a fast-paced and busy environment and reports directly to the City Activation Manager. It requires a person who is experienced, calm, flexible, people and client focused, well organised, and able to work under pressure and after hours as required.
The role is to work as support to the City Activation Unit, who are responsible for developing and delivering projects and initiatives that contribute to the sustainable growth and activation of the city.
The purpose of the role is to provide support in the building and maintaining of social and economic connections and outcomes for the City of Palmerston. This is to position Palmerston as a destination for business and enterprise to develop, and for the community to be engaged and connected.
Work assisting the Leads in City Activation with the creation and implementation of a range of programs and services that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan in the areas of:
* City Activation
* Place & Culture
* Events
* Economic Development
About You
We are looking for a person with the following:
* Diploma level qualification in Arts, Economic Development, Marketing, Business Management, or related field, OR four years' relevant experience, with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
* Ability to gain industry knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of place activation and product development initiatives.
* Ability to gain an understanding of the economic and policy challenges facing the creative economy sector.
* Ability to research, analysing information and provide solutions
* Demonstrated strong organisational and event coordination skills.
* Well-developed written and verbal skills including skills in stakeholder engagement, negotiation and conflict resolution.
* Ability to operate with a high degree of flexibility in an environment which can have periods of demanding workloads and time constraints.
* Knowledge and awareness of social, economic, environmental, cultural, and political issues impacting on the local economy, programs, and service delivery.
* Strong customer service focus and commitment to providing quality customer (internal and external) service.
