ASC is Australia's submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy's Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and have been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation's conventionally armed, nuclear‐powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia's history.

We have immediate opportunities for skilled people to undertake world‐leading training in the United States, setting you up for a secure career back home in the nuclear‐powered submarine program – Australia's largest‐ever industrial endeavour. You will have access to cutting‐edge training at Pearl Harbor (Hawaii) for 2–3 years, with some roles completing placements at other locations throughout the USA during the full course of the assignment.

Role & Responsibilities

Working in Radiological Controls you will: conduct radiation surveys, implement control procedures related to transport, storage and treatment of radiological waste, monitor equipment, recommend changes to improve controls, correct deficiencies and increase efficiency, and ensure adherence to radiological control requirements. You will be immersed in the United States Navy processes and procedures and work on the Virginia Class systems in Pearl Harbor or other U.S. locations. You will also undertake instructor‐led classroom‐based training and on‐the‐job learning.

Eligibility Criteria

The Successful Person Will Possess:

* Bachelor's Degree in Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Health or related work experience in health sector
* Experience in Radiology/Radiological controls is highly desirable but not essential
* Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level
* Eligibility to obtain an A2 working VISA and International Training Order (ITO) in the US
* Strong communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
* Must be an Australian Citizen
* Must be able to hold an NV1 Security Clearance

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance. To check your eligibility please visit the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website.
