Take ownership of inventory accuracy and play a key role in a high-performing trade branch!
This is a newly created role designed to support the branch’s rapid growth. As the Inventory Controller, you’ll take ownership of stock accuracy, purchasing, and reporting to keep the branch operating smoothly and efficiently.
You’ll work closely with Branch Manager, gaining hands-on training and becoming the go-to expert for all things inventory.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Managing day-to-day stock purchasing for trade counter, warehouse, and commercial project
orders.
• Coordinating project-specific procurement and ensuring timely delivery.
• Managing ongoing cycle counts and participating in the annual stocktake.
• Monitoring stock levels to meet customer demand without excessive overstocking.
• Preparing and maintaining inventory and purchasing reports.
• Analysing inventory performance and identifying discrepancies or risks.
• Liaising with suppliers, warehouse team, and sales staff to maintain smooth stock flow.
• Assisting the team where required, including greeting customers when on the trade counter.
• Ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with Tradelink procedures.
About You:
You are detail-oriented, organised, and proactive - someone who thrives in structured tasks and enjoys taking ownership.
You’ll Bring:
• Solid inventory, purchasing, or stock management experience (essential).
• Excellent attention to detail, numeracy and reporting skills.
• Strong computer literacy and confidence with systems/data entry.
• The ability to work independently for long periods while still contributing to the team.
• A hands-on mindset—comfortable stepping in to help across the branch.
• Reliability, accountability, and a friendly, low-ego personality that suits the culture.
• Industry experience (plumbing/trade wholesale) is advantageous, but not essential.
