Remuneration: $63,177.29 - $71,429.33 per annum
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

We are seeking a permanent fulltime Allied Health Assistant to join the Sub Acute Rehabilitation Ward at Westmead Hospital. This role provides support across acute and rehabilitation clinical areas. The successful applicant will work in a team environment that fosters positive working relationships. This position requires the incumbent to work weekday leading into weekends (Wednesday to Sunday) with willingness to also work public holidays. There is also a possibility of job share for this role.

What you'll be doing

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will support Allied Health Professionals to deliver safe, effective and high-quality therapy services to patients within the rehabilitation ward. Working under supervision, you will assist with therapy programs, patient activities and clinical support tasks that contribute to improved patient outcomes and functional independence.

In this role you will be required to:

* Assist with individual and group therapy, exercise and education programs.
* Support patients to participate in rehabilitation activities that improve independence.
* Monitor, document and report patient progress and therapy outcomes.
* Collaborate with the allied health team to coordinate therapy sessions and workloads.
* Maintain therapy equipment, supplies and clinical resources.

Essential Criteria

* Qualifications - Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance/relevant qualification or currently enrolled in training for a Certificate IV in AHA or relevant qualification.

Selection Criteria

* Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance/relevant qualification or currently enrolled in training for a Certificate IV in AHA or relevant qualification.
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrated previous experience working in a health environment.
* Demonstrated ability to work as a contributing member of the allied health team.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload delegated by supervising AHP's, meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice, seeking assistance as required.
* Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.
* Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles and how it applies to the duties of the position.
* Demonstrated ability to work within a healthcare service or professional care giving capacity, in a positive manner enhancing the client's ability to achieve positive outcomes and personal goals.
