Regulatory Officer / Principal Regulatory Officer
The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) and the Utilities Commission are seeking a Regulatory Officer and a Principal Regulatory Officer to help safeguard the consumer interest of Territorians.
The successful candidates will have a background in regulating essential services or utilities and will contribute to research and critical analysis of economic regulation across various utility industries.
Responsibilities include developing and delivering accurate, evidence-based solutions and advice to the Commissioner and other stakeholders on both complex and straightforward issues.
Applicants with tertiary qualifications in economics, commerce, law, public policy, or administration will be highly regarded for these positions.
The ideal candidates will have advanced conceptual, research, and analytical skills, coupled with effective interpersonal and communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a small, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to research and critical analysis of economic regulation across various utility industries
- Develop and deliver precise, evidence-based solutions and advice to the Commissioner and other stakeholders
- Assist in major reviews and projects, and provide administrative support to the Office of the Commission
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, commerce, law, public policy, or administration
- Background in regulating essential services or utilities
- Advanced conceptual, research, and analytical skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication abilities
The Northern Territory Government offers a competitive salary range of $104,408 - $144,271 per annum, depending on experience.
