Position Overview
As a key role in Steritech's Operations team, the Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all plant and equipment, including forklifts and irradiation systems, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards through strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
This hands-on position spans a range of responsibilities including managing driveway operations, receiving and booking product via the warehouse management system, loading and unloading, customer interaction, and general warehouse functions.
The role also contributes to safety and maintenance checks, site cleanliness, and continuous improvement of plant efficiency, safety, and quality outcomes.
Success in this role requires a strong safety mindset, physical capability, sound communication skills, and the flexibility to work rotating or 12-hour shifts, including weekends, in a fast-paced team environment.
Key Requirements
Current forklift licence and demonstrated experience in a warehouse or processing environment
Current driver's licence and reliable transport to and from site
Flexible availability to work 12-hour shifts, rotating rosters, and weekends as required
Physically fit and capable of manual handling and active, on-your-feet work
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering high-quality work
Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to support others
About You

You will also have the following:
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Current and valid Forklift Licence
Current unrestricted Driver's Licence
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including rotating rosters and weekends
Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
Previous experience in a manufacturing, processing, or warehouse environment
Reliable transport to and from the workplace
Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory tracking
Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
Knowledge of safe work procedures and quality standards in an industrial setting
