**Position overview**
**The Service Coordinator - Finance**, provides comprehensive, high-level support in a diverse range of financial operations including, preparing monthly management reports, and dashboards, planning and managing budgets and managing the grant acquittal process for externally funded grants.
The role also provides robust advice on a wide range of the University finance-related policies, procedures and initiatives supporting achievement of the College and University’s strategic goals.
This position also works closely with School Managers to plan and manage the schools’ budget.
Under the broad direction of the College Finance Manager the occupant will be responsible for:
- Providing a high level of customer service to internal clients and stakeholders
- Assisting the College Finance Manager in the delivery of strategic projects as part of the College change management plan.
- Ensuring up to date and accurate transaction management for the College through the relevant financial systems and that unresolved issues are escalated in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Providing advice and assistance in regard to financial management, via reports or otherwise, within the college with consideration of process, policy, legislation and commercial contracts.
- High standards of professionalism and service delivery.
- Provide high-level financial services and administrative support to the College community, including advice on the interpretation of and compliance with financial policies, procedures and legislation, ensure compliance with policies and develop the financial management skills of staff within the Finance team and across the College.
- Oversee the financial management of external grants, consultancies and the recurrent ledger by regularly reviewing expenditure and commitments, providing periodic and ad hoc financial reports to internal and external stakeholders and preparing financial statements, budgets and forecasts.
- Create project budget templates; prepare milestone financial reports to external funding bodies in consultation with project chief investigators to ensure that all contractual requirements are met, investigating and resolving issues.
