The APVMA's Communications team is seeking applications for a non-ongoing Senior Stakeholder Engagement and Media Officer to contribute to key stakeholder management projects, and maintain direct contact, liaison and relationship building with diverse stakeholders across the APVMA, Agriculture portfolio, industry, and associated interest groups.
Located in either Canberra ACT or regional Armidale NSW, you will gain experience in the Australian Public Service, have access to a variety of flexible working arrangements, and take on complex operational responsibilities that will advance your career in communications.
The Role
The Senior Stakeholder Engagement and Media Officer will work in a small team responsible for the delivery of the stakeholder engagement component of the APVMA Strategy 2030. This will include analysing and mapping APVMA stakeholders, proposing and designing data collection and analysis methods, and liaising with APVMA stakeholders to seek their feedback as part of informing our stakeholder engagement approach. Your work will also include maintaining relationships with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, the Minister's Office, and external stakeholders.
As a Senior Stakeholder Engagement Officer, you will work collaboratively within and beyond the Engagement and Communications team to anticipate and manage issues relevant to the APVMA, effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders, and support the processes that convey complex scientific information and sound regulatory posture in a public policy context.
Our ideal candidate
To be a strong contender for the role, you will have:
* Demonstrated experience in a similar role, which included analysing, strategising, reforming, and managing an organisation's approach to stakeholder engagement.
* Strong organisational and time management skills, including project management.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to collaborate proficiently and work productively in an individual and team setting.
* Strategic thinking and ability to implement strategic plans in line with corporate objectives.
