Financial Accountant Brisbane South-West | Permanent Full-Time An exciting opportunity has become available for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established and growing business with international operations and a supportive finance team of seven based in the Brisbane office. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in their month-end and audit capabilities and is keen to contribute to both business-as-usual finance and post-acquisition integration activity. You’ll be working in a head office environment (with global links), and while there are set procedures, the local team operates with a great deal of autonomy. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial and management reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow. Prepare and lodge timely statutory returns (BAS, PAYG, FBT, etc). Deliver quarterly board reports. Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes. Assist with year-end statutory accounts and external audit coordination. Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconciliations. Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and internal policies. Manage and maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules. Assist with accounts payable functions, including processing and reconciliations. Handle stock control and reconciliations. Monitor and improve internal controls; participate in process reviews. Lead Singapore compliance audits and prepare relevant tax & GST documentation. Liaise with global head office to ensure group alignment. What We’re Looking For Strong experience in month-end reporting and audit preparation (particularly external audits). Exposure to consolidation and integration processes is a plus – the business has recently acquired another company. Comfortable working in a structured head office environment, with overseas leadership. Able to navigate procedures while taking ownership at a local level. What You’ll Bring Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or CA qualification (or currently completing). Minimum 3 years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role. Strong knowledge of statutory reporting and compliance. Proficient in Excel and accounting systems. High attention to detail and analytical thinking. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Eagerness to learn and contribute – even if you don’t tick every box, training will be provided for the right person.
