About the role
Based at Burton and reporting to the Financial Controller, we are looking for a skilled Management Accountant to provide financial, analytical, and strategic support to the finance department. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, assist with budgeting and forecasting, analyse financial performance, and help drive informed business decisions. The Management Accountant will play a crucial role in improving financial processes and supporting the overall success of the business.
Day to day you will
* Prepare and analyse monthly management reports and financial statements
* Investigate and resolve variances, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
* Monitor financial performance and provide insights to support decision‐making
* Oversee reconciliation of accounts and ensure accuracy of the general ledger
* Support month‐end and year‐end closing processes
* Liaise with internal teams to provide financial guidance and support
* Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
* Assist with projects and tasks assigned by Chief of Finance or Credit Controller
Responsibilities
* Analyse performance by site, product line, and department to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Maintain and manage product costing data, including material prices and labour rates;
* Run and monitor the standard costing process;
* Analyse manufacturing cost variances and identify performance drivers; and
* Partner with operations, supply chain and purchasing to ensure accurate cost inputs.

What we would like to see on your resume
* Work experience in a fast‐paced Management Accountant or similar finance role
* Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
* A relevant accounting qualification, e.g. CPA/CA or working towards (desirable but not essential)
