We are thrilled to present an exciting new opportunity for a passionate and experienced senior leader to guide our growing Workers Compensation function in NT. As the Operations Manager, you will report to the General Manager – Self and Specialised Insurance, and become a vital part of our Senior Leadership Team.
Your role will be to provide strategic direction, ensuring excellence in compliance, performance, culture, and financial targets for the branches (Darwin and Alice Springs).

How you'll make an impact
* Cultivate a Positive Culture: Drive and enhance a culture that ensures high levels of staff engagement and satisfaction, aligning with GB values;
* Talent Development: Develop and implement talent plans to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time to meet strategic and operational requirements;
* Performance Management: Manage employee performance by establishing clear goals and expectations, tracking progress, providing timely feedback, and addressing performance deficiencies promptly;
* Client Relationship Building: Build strong, effective, and collaborative relationships with clients to ensure successful contract management;
* Leadership and Team Management: Lead the NT Workers Compensation branches and its employees, with a strong focus on client relationships and operational excellence;
* Strategic Planning: Design, develop, and implement strategic plans that support the business vision and goals, and effectively communicate these plans to staff;
* Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain a departmental structure and operating model that supports superior operational performance for NT injured workers and employers;
* Continuous Improvement: Drive a continuous improvement approach to identify efficiency opportunities and technological enhancements that deliver improved outcomes and customer experiences;
* Legislative Support: Support the effective implementation of any legislative reform;
* Risk Management: Actively identify and mitigate key business risks within the business unit;
* Financial Management: Develop and successfully manage budgets and forecasts;
* Collaboration for Growth: Collaborate with GB's Client Services and Business Development functions to attract and retain NT clients and drive growth.
About you
* Significant (at least 5 years) leadership experience within workers compensation, personal injury or Self Insured legislative environments;
* Proven success in senior leadership of teams, driving engagement, and building capabilities collaboratively;
* Deep understanding of claims management schemes and practices;
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead by example and communicate at all organisational levels;
* Experience in managing performance through metrics;
* Strategic mindset and collaborative spirit;
* Resilient attitude;
* Experience in managing outsourced supply arrangements;
* Post graduate tertiary qualifications in Business, Personal Injury, or related fields are highly regarded.
