**About the Opportunity**
An exciting opportunity has become available for a dedicated and experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team in Harvey. Reporting to the Laboratory Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering accurate sampling and testing of our products. You will display an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving and be dedication to getting it right first time.
Key accountabilities include:
- Chemical and bacteriological analyses of in-line, finished product and raw materials.
- Ensure prompt and accurate test results are communicated to internal and external customers, both in writing and verbally.
- Ensuring the provision of an efficient and reliable testing service in accordance with approved methods.
- Maintain equipment calibration schedules and ensure housekeeping and safety standards are adhered to at all times.
- Periodically review laboratory performance against a defined set of measures. They shall be based on but not limited to, calibration and testing accuracy, result traceability, customer service, budget compliance and continuous improvement incorporating corrective and preventative action.
- Environmental monitoring and sampling as required.
- Receive, check and store all consumables for the laboratory and undertake other duties as required.
**About You**
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or similar is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in a laboratory/testing supporting a food manufacturing operations.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- A working knowledge of HACCP and OH&S is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
We are seeking an individual who has a positive and proactive attitude and is able to foster positive working relationships. The incumbent needs to have the ability to work autonomously and as part of an efficient team. An individual who takes pride and is committed to delivering high quality work within a deadline.
This is a full time position which requires the incumbent to work a 12 hour rotating roster including weekends.
