Purchasing Manager Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join our team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for sourcing and managing all hotel supplies, food, and beverages.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company goals
* Sourcing, negotiation, and management of contracts with suppliers
* Collaboration with department heads to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and ensure timely replenishment
* Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of quality products and services
* Monitoring vendor performance and maintaining accurate vendor records
* Conducting market research to identify pricing trends, cost-saving opportunities, and new suppliers
* Ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and health/safety regulations
* Maintaining accurate purchasing records, reports, and documentation in the procurement system
* Coordination with the finance department for payment approvals and budget control
* Participation in audits, cost control initiatives, and sustainability efforts
Requirements:
* Previous experience in similar role or environment
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Strong organizational and analytical skills
* Strong knowledge of hospitality supply chain, food and beverage procurement, and vendor management
* Strong attention to detail
* Relevant procurement experience, preferably within hospitality environment
* Inventory management experience
* Systems skills – preferable CHECK, Excel, Oracle Point of Sale systems
* Background in Finance an advantage
* Knowledge of HACCP and other food safety regulations
* Experience in sustainable and local sourcing initiatives
* Positive attitude and enthusiasm
