Key Responisibilities Include
- Provide advice and assistance to the team leaders and staff on quality and compliance issues, and change management activities.
- Utilise the quality management system tools to support document control, audits, equipment calibration, and Opportunities for improvement (OQI), and staff appraisal records as required.
- Develop, coordinate and participate in internal audits, proficiency trials, and assist with equipment calibration management to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements. Monitor and report on monthly quality activities and training undertaken in the laboratories.
- Assist in undertaking root cause investigations to identify Quality Management process improvements.
- Represent Inorganic Chemistry andOrganic Chemistry at PEH/CPHS Quality Community of Practice and Training Co-Ordinators meetings, implementing initiatives raised and reporting on outcomes.
- Coordinate and manage training improvement and training activities to comply with training requirements and meet laboratory needs.
- Work autonomously and exercise judgement to establish work priorities and meet deadlines.
- Actively pursue career development and learning opportunities and contribute to industry knowledge and standards.
Key competencies
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and active participation of quality procedures and processes for maintenance of NATA/ISO 17025 accreditation and biosecurity certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in chemical analysis.
- Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills to provide advice to colleagues and management and show an understanding of client and team needs.
- Demonstrated high-level written communication skills to document and review operational procedures and analytical methodology.
- Proven ability, or the capacity to rapidly acquire the ability, to develop, document, deliver and evaluate training programs in a scientific environment.
- Ability to provide advice and assistance in relation to organisational compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering compliance training.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- While not mandatory, a qualification in quality management or internal auditing would be well regarded.
