Job Title: Senior Data Engineer – Azure Platform Location: Melbourne (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite) Type: Full-time | Permanent Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and delivery of modern data solutions using the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. This role involves full lifecycle development, from architecture through to deployment and optimisation. You will play a key role in enabling scalable, high-performing analytics and reporting solutions across the business. Key Responsibilities Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure Storage Build, test, deploy, and optimise Power BI/Fabric models and reports end-to-end Design and maintain robust data models that enable high-quality reporting and analytics Write and tune complex SQL queries and stored procedures using Microsoft SQL Server Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and apply engineering best practices (testing, version control, monitoring) Work collaboratively with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders Ensure data integrity, governance, and compliance standards are upheld Core Requirements Strong SQL skills (MSSQL), including advanced query development and performance tuning Proven experience in data model design for business intelligence and analytics Deep hands-on expertise with the Azure Data Platform, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Storage, and Azure DevOps Extensive experience across the full Power BI/Fabric lifecycle, including data modelling, DAX, report development, testing, deployment, and performance monitoring Desirable Experience Experience with Lakehouse architecture or Delta Lake Exposure to event-driven systems such as Kafka or Event Grid Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep Background in the retail or consumer analytics domain Understanding of data security, masking, and privacy best practices scr-hannah-macleod At Randstad Digital, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all.
