The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Workforce work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students.Queensland state schools offer a unique and rewarding setting where you can enjoy flexible family-friendly work schedules while being part of our growing workforce of experienced wellbeing professionals. We are recruiting wellbeing professionals to work in state schools with vacancies in the Metropolitan North region.Your OpportunityWe are seeking to fill various temporary roles ranging from 3 to 14 months, across primary and secondary state schools in the Metropolitan North region.As a Senior Psychologist and a specialist member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will:Support children and students to access and fully participate in learning and experience success and wellbeing across all stages of learning by ensuring delivery of evidence-based psychology services within schools in your region.Provide psychology services directly to schools in specific or specialised areas of psychology practice or in response to complex school needs.Provide professional supervision, leadership, and support to school psychologists within the region to develop their capability and clinical skills.Your RoleResponsibilities IncludeAssess psychological needs and identify appropriate responses and interventions to support the mental health and wellbeing of students and/or undertake individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions requiring specialised psychological practice with students, parents and families.Provide leadership and demonstrate high levels of expertise in specific or specialised clinical areasto psychologists in collaboration with regional and school management teams, to promote the delivery of safe, effective, high quality psychology services.Support psychologists and schools within regions and across the state to use clinical evidence-based psychology practices to achieve positive student learning outcomes.Work with the Senior Advisor, Psychology to identify professional development needs and proactively plan, implement and evaluate clinical supervision, training and development initiatives for psychologists in schools.Please view the Role Description for a full list of responsibilities.A Mandatory Requirement Of This Role IsAppointment to this position requires proof of qualification in Psychology and general registration with AHPRA, or if a new graduate, must hold provisional registration with AHPRA with a supervision plan approved by the Psychology Board of Australia prior to the commencement of employment.In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000, registered health practitioners working within their professional capacity must hold valid registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency at all times during their employment for the purpose of satisfying the exemption requirements of the Act.Interested?
