We are currently looking for a Senior Waterways Engineer to join our team and provide industry leadership.
About the role:
We are looking for a new team member to join us and contribute to the successful delivery of projects that have a positive impact on river and catchment management. The successful applicant will be an experienced waterway engineer who is passionate about support best-practice and implementing nature-based solutions.
You will work closely with our dynamic team to plan, design and implement exciting and challenging river restoration, urban water management and urban stream naturalisation projects.
The position is required to support and lead teams, liaise with clients, and contribute to the delivery of projects. This position will cover a broad spectrum of projects, focussing on waterways and can involve concept and detailed design, including modelling using software such as 12d and AutoCAD through to HEC-RAS and TUFLOW. The projects can be across both urban and rural waterways, and you will work with geomorphologists, planners, engineers, ecologists and strategists.
Who you are:
A degree or higher in civil or environmental engineering or equivalent.
10-15 years' experience applying engineering principles in the waterway, river, coastal and catchment space.
CPEng or equivalent certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment commencement.
An appreciation of how nature-based solutions can improve how our waterways and catchment are managed and how you would contribute to this.
Proficiency and experience in analysing the hydraulic of waterways and estuaries.
Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software.
Demonstrated experience with HEC-RAS and TUFLOW modelling software is essential.
Demonstrated experience in design software 12d and AutoCAD (or similar).
Proven ability to develop a good rapport with clients, stakeholders, team members.
A long-term perspective and ability to build knowledge, skills, relationships and profile.
Ability to work well within a close-knit team environment.
Friendly, proactive, and self-motivated.
Comfortable with travel within state and interstate.
