About the role
Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. We are looking for a Transport & Logistics Officer to join our Metal Products Team at Boyne Smelters – Gladstone. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Logistics Officer to integrate their skills with a well established team. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, loading ingots, billets and other products onto trucks, as well as packaging and preparing ingots for export via ship. Attention to detail is essential as we are BSL's last opportunity to impress our customers.
Your role will involve operating large forklift machinery (8 to 14 tonnes) within the workspace, truck loading areas and wharf.

Responsibilities
* Operate heavy forklift machinery (8 to 14 tonnes) in workspace, loading areas and wharf.
* Plan, assign and load ingots, billets and other products onto trucks; package and prepare loads for export.
* Load/unload trucks and strap loads as required.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; maintain clear communication.
* Follow safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety.
What you'll bring

* Recent experience operating heavy forklift machinery.
* Ability to meet high operational standards.
* Good computer skills; knowledge of Metpro is desirable.
It will also be beneficial if you have a trade or operational background with practical, "can do" attitude, and experience in logistics or aluminium smelter environments.

Where you'll be working
Boyne Smelters Limited is Australia's second largest aluminium smelter with about 1,000 staff. Located around 20 km southeast of Gladstone at Boyne Island, BSL produces around 500,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum. Activities include carbon anodes manufacturing, aluminium production, and casting of molten material ready to ship. The smelter is connected to Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for alumina supply.
