Job Summary
The City of Rockingham is seeking a Permanent Full‐time (average 38 hours/week) Environmental Planner/Advisor to manage environmental projects, conduct environmental impact assessments and provide environmental advice within the strategic and statutory planning processes. Part‐time positions will also be considered.
Responsibilities
* Conduct environmental impact assessments in accordance with Part IV of the Environmental Protection Act 1986.
* Prepare, review and manage environmental management plans, strategies and policies.
* Manage specific environmental projects and collaborate with planning professionals.
* Provide environmental advice and support within the planning system.
Qualifications & Experience
* Comprehensive understanding of planning legislation and its relationship to environmental legislation.
* Comprehensive knowledge of preparing and reviewing environmental management plans, reports, strategies and policies.
* Sound knowledge of environmental impact assessment as per Part IV of the Environmental Protection Act 1986.
* Considerable experience in land use planning, environmental management, strategic planning and/or environmental planning at local, state or federal level.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $102,707 to $110,461 per annum (depends on skills and experience).
* 12% superannuation, with an option to co‐contribute up to 5% (total 22%).
