RN Disability Support
The role of an RN involves providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities.
Clinical oversight and leadership of the care team are key responsibilities, including mentoring, training, and upskilling staff. Clinical Oversight
* Documentation, reporting, and escalation of clinical concerns must be completed accurately.
* Assistance with personal care, hygiene, dressing, bathing, and grooming is also required.
* Patient hoisting using a full sling hoist (2-person assist) needs to be performed by the RN.
* Skin integrity checks as part of pressure injury prevention need to be completed daily.
* Medication administration in line with the care plan and medication safety protocols is necessary.
* Meal preparation and feeding assistance should consider fatigue and posture factors.
* Daily domestic tasks, such as laundry, cleaning, and general tidying require assistance.
* Home exercise programs and postural management must be supported.
* Community access and rehabilitation exercises for participants need assistance from the RN.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Nursing degree from an Australian institution, AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, current First Aid and CPR certificates, an Australian Driver Licence, and a current National Police Clearance.
