We are now seeking a qualified Health and Safety Officer to join our health and safety team where resident and employee safety is paramount. If you are passionate about keeping our sites, staff and residents protected whilst advocating and building a safety culture, we want to hear from you!
Overall, you will be responsible to achieve a safety culture through effective implementation, monitoring and review of health and safety initiatives including policies, procedures, education, and site inspections/audits, in line with health and safety legislation.
**Your role will include**:
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure control measures are implemented and monitored 
- Conduct internal safety audits to ensure compliances are in place 
- Assist to resolve OH&S; issues on site 
- Respond to incident and injury notifications, attending sites and conducting post incident investigations, preparing investigation reports/recommendations and submissions to necessary parties 
- Ensure staff are kept up to date with safety procedures and policies through training initiatives 
- Prepare, distribute and/or deliver information required for site toolbox meetings 
- Ensure incidents and hazards are recorded and investigated 
- Provide regular reporting and ensure distribution for all stakeholders 
- Working across Victorian sites, Metropolitan and regional Victoria
**To be successful, you will possess**:
- Relevant qualifications and at least 3 years' experience in a similar role 
- Knowledge of Australia's OH&S; legislative framework and liaising with WorkSafe 
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, solid computer skills 
- High level of organisation and time management skills 
- Confidence to deliver information to all stakeholders 
- NDIS Workers Screening Check and Covid-19 vaccination mandatory 
- Working knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards desirable 
- Australian drivers' licence and access to own vehicle 
- Regional travel required
