$100,776 - $105,340 + Super + $5k Allowance + Salary Packaging BenefitsAbout the roleThe Carer Promotion, Recruitment and Development Support Officer works within MacKillop's Pilbara Service Delivery Operational Team with support from the Foster Care Development team based in Perth.There is an immediate and chronic shortage of Foster Carers and this position's main responsibilities are to proactively engage Community, Family, Industry and across-Sector, to support the promotion of foster care across the Pilbara - with an additional focus on Port Hedland and Karratha.This includes rethinking conventional ways of promotion, advertisement, engagement, marketing and attraction activities and converting these ideas into actions.The Carer Promotion, Recruitment and Development Support Officer will assist in the development and implementation of a explicit new strategic plan to promote and attract foster care applicants in the Pilbara using contemporary and alternative approaches.
A component of this role is to assist with recruitment, development and retention of foster carers, provide support to the local team around carer compliance systems to ensure MacKillop is working effectively and adheres to the recruitment and authorisation processes.This is a Full-Time opportunity based in Port Hedland (Preferred) or Karratha WA within our Pilbara Service Delivery Operational Team.
The position reports to the Pilbara Services Team Project Coordinator.Key Selection CriteriaTo be successful in this role, you will have:A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.An appropriate qualification either in human services and/or marketing and/or communications (equivalent experience and skills).
A combination of equivalent study and experience, including Aboriginal people with lived and professional experience will be considered.Demonstrated skills and experience in project planning, public speaking, event planning, marketing and promotion, administration and coordination.Ability and willingness to create new and innovative ways to promote and engage the community around foster care.Confidence to engage, build relationships and partnerships through verbal and written communication with community, stakeholders, services, industry.An ability to adhere to deadlines and meet performance measures while working under pressure and to work autonomously.Willingness and ability to travel and work alternative hours including planned weekends.Please address the full Key Selection Criteria outlined in the PD as part of your application.Our offerHourly Rate of $51.00 to $54.31 as outlined in the SCHADS Award Level 6, dependent on qualification and experience.Salary packaging – we can help you to maximise your salary packaging up to $18,550 per year, which allows you to reduce the amount of tax you pay.Paid Training that is industry specific including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Sanctuary and Cultural Awareness training.Fitness Passport – a discounted workplace health and fitness program available to you and your family.Employee Assistance Program – free access to counselling and coaching supporting mental health, finances, physical health, and more.Supportive Environment - Monthly supportive meetings with your direct manager.Sanctuary Organisation - MacKillop's work is underpinned by the Sanctuary Model, an evidence-supported framework that promotes a safe environment and coping with stress and trauma.You must have a:Valid and current Driver's Licence;Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);Valid Employee Working with Children Check;Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles).
