We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Network Specialist to join a dynamic infrastructure team for an initial 2-month contract, covering extended leave. This role is based in the western suburbs of Brisbane and offers the opportunity to work on a mission-critical enterprise network environment.
You will be contracting through Data#3, a leading IT services provider, supporting a large and complex infrastructure environment. This is a hands-on senior technical role where you will provide expert guidance, high-level support, and leadership across a variety of network and security technologies.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of enterprise network strategies, policies, and procedures.
* Provide expert consultancy on network architecture, security, and performance.
* Deliver Level 3 support across all network and security infrastructure.
* Manage and optimise core network and data communication services.
* Mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership within the infrastructure team.
* Manage and report on complex network projects and initiatives.
* Represent the organisation in forums, stakeholder meetings, and vendor engagements.
* Maintain thorough documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant standards.

About You
You're an experienced Network Engineer with a strong background in enterprise environments and a proactive, collaborative approach. You'll have the ability to hit the ground running and manage complex systems with minimal supervision.

Essential Skills & Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
* 5+ years in a senior network engineering role within large-scale environments.
* Strong expertise in Cisco networking, switching, wireless, and security.
Proven experience with:
* Cisco (CCNP-level or equivalent)
* Palo Alto firewalls
* Cisco ISE
* Citrix NetScaler
* Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues (latency, outages, connectivity).
* Scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Ansible).
* Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Experience with:
* Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
* SolarWinds or similar monitoring tools
* Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CISSP highly regarded.
