Job Description
As a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef, you will be responsible for leading the hospitality team at our landmark new sporting and community venue. Your key focus will be to deliver exceptional food and memorable experiences to our guests while maintaining high presentation and service standards across all spaces.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kitchen operations, events management, and team leadership. You will work closely with the Head Chef and other stakeholders to develop and execute plans that drive the venue's hospitality success. Key Accountabilities
1. Directly responsible for hands-on food preparation and overseeing service operations.
2. Demonstrates a strong awareness of trends and innovations within the hospitality industry.
3. Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the venue on social media, develop sales strategies, and attract new business.
4. Manage budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability while meeting revenue targets.
5. Coordinate with internal teams (kitchen, bar, and operations) to ensure high-quality service and venue success.
6. Oversee food quality control, maintaining procedure manuals, update menus, and assist with front-of-house operations as required.
7. Recruit, train, and oversee kitchen staff, ensuring efficient service and adherence to venue standards.
8. Maintain high presentation and service standards across all spaces.
9. Ensure kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Relevant professional certifications in kitchen operations or related areas.
* 5+ years of experience as Sous chef or strong CDP ready to step up.
* Understanding of food costs, menu planning, and hospitality operations.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills to manage a diverse team and ensure smooth operations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with guests, staff, and vendors.
* Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* National Police Check.

Our new East Fremantle Community Park will be a welcoming and vibrant local space where sports, leisure, and recreation thrive together. The venue offers a café, full-service restaurant, and bar, along with a range of leisure activities for children and adults of all abilities.
The precinct also features a football oval, two bowls greens, three croquet greens, a community garden, a small community facility, skate park, half-court basketball court, and a dog park.
