School Learning Support Officer – Preschool
Location: Sydney Region.
Closing Date: 16-Jun-2026.
Salary: $37.21 - $43.23 per hour, plus superannuation and leave loading.
About the Role
School Learning Support Officers provide support for students with identified diverse learning needs, including disability, in classrooms and other learning environments under the direction and supervision of a teacher to support achievement of educational outcomes. Responsibilities include student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required. Officers may also provide specific support in the following streams: pre‐school, vision support, hearing support, and bilingual. Specific duties may vary depending on the stream.
Essential Requirements
* Upon appointment, be working towards or hold an Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) approved Certificate III in Children's Services or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
* Working with Children Check clearance.
* Completion of mandatory training required by the Department of Education and willingness to undertake first aid training relevant to the role.
* Training to administer medications and health support as required.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to work with students with emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities.
* Commitment to protecting and promoting the safety, wellbeing and rights of all children.
* Ability to work with young children and awareness of their needs.
Conditions
Individuals who are only working towards the qualifying certificate may be appointed on a temporary basis until completion. Failure to complete within twelve months from start date will result in cessation of temporary employment.

Position will commence Day 1 Term 3 2026 – 20 July 2026.
