About the role
The Assistant Training Advisor provides information to customers and members of the public on apprenticeships, traineeships and vocational education and training programs, and services.
Key accountabilities
* Respond to counter, telephone and email enquiries on apprenticeship support services and VET programs, providing excellent customer service
* Deliver administrative support, including office tasks, spreadsheets, word processing and data management, while maintaining confidentiality
* Assist with training programs, projects and associated payments to ensure smooth operations
* Provide guidance on Skills Recognition, Apprenticeship and Traineeship Act (2001), Apprentice Connect Australia Provider, and training options, Fair Work Australia provisions and user choice options to respond to customer enquiries.

About you
* Works confidently in a structured environment, following policies, procedures and guidelines
* Consults the line manager on complex or sensitive matters to support sound decision-making
* Demonstrates strong attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication skills
* Shows investigative skills and the ability to analyse information to resolve issues
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
* Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
* Current and Valid Drivers Licence and willingness to travel
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
