About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Families Support Specialist to join our team in providing high-quality support services to women and families accessing maternity and child services. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clients to deliver efficient and effective early intervention family-focused recovery assessments, counseling, and care coordination services.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized support plans.
* Deliver counseling services to clients, focusing on promoting healthy relationships, managing stress, and improving overall well-being.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless service delivery and achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
* Develop and implement group programs aimed at promoting social connections, community engagement, and skill-building.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related field.
* Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Comprehensive knowledge of psychosocial issues affecting consumers and their families.
* Experience in conducting psychosocial assessments, group work, and crisis management within person-centered and brief intervention models.
* Excellent communication, advocacy, negotiation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
* Valid unrestricted Class C Australian Driver's license and willingness to travel for work with overnight stays.
