**The Opportunity**
We have an exciting opportunity available for a high-level Executive Officer directly supporting the Chief Executive Officer for the Environment Protection Authority (EPA). This includes managing the CEO's Office and providing high-level executive support and advice to the CEO. This includes managing special projects and implementing strategies as directed to support the achievement of key organisational and whole-of-government objectives. You will need to provide timely and well-informed advice to the CEO on a full range of diverse and complex issues, projects, and reforms that span across the EPA's role and functions, in consultation with relevant areas as required, to ensure the CEO is fully briefed on key issues and projects.
**About You**
You will be a purpose driven, outcomes focused and collaborative passionate advocate for the environment, communities and the NSW EPA. You will have experience operating in a high-volume work environment with competing demands, tight deadlines and divergent stakeholder perspectives, to deliver considered advice and accurate responses to requests. You will have demonstrated experience successfully working in an environment where confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion are paramount. In addition, exercising astute judgement in managing confidential and sensitive information that has the potential to impact on organisational performance or reputation. You will be a strong and supportive leader of people, to guide and engage with the CEO Office team, as well as staff across the EPA.
**About the Team**
The CEO's office is responsible for directly supporting the CEO in the carrying out of those functions. The team provides the Secretariat for the EPA Board, the Executive, the Senior Leadership team and the People Leaders group. The team also coordinates and manages requests for information received from the Minister's Office, DCCEEW and other government agencies ensuring informed and well-constructed responses that comply with government protocols whilst maintaining confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion and to enable the CEO to make timely decisions to meet external obligations. The team also manage current issues and identifies and investigates urgent and emerging management and contentious issues and risks to which the CEO will need to respond and collaborate with the EPA Executive, partner agencies and others in providing appropriate, well considered solutions.
