Join a values-driven team making a real difference.
We are looking for 7 experienced, kind, and reliable support workers to join a responsive and dedicated care team in Wollongong. This is not just a job — it's an opportunity to advocate for an underfunded participant by ensuring every shift reflects their true support needs.
What You'll Do:
You'll provide person-centred support in both Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community Access environments, with a strong focus on:
* Stoma bag care and other personal support needs
* Managing complex behaviours with empathy and professionalism
* Adhering to detailed Behaviour Support Plans
* Implementing authorised restrictive practices safely and ethically
* Driving participants to and from appointments or community activities
* Accurately documenting reports to support appropriate funding
You'll also play a critical role in rebuilding trust, consistency, and support advocacy for a participant whose funding may not reflect their real needs — yet.
About You:
We are seeking people who embody professional care with heart. You will be a great fit if you:
* Have proven experience with stoma care
* Have proven experience with behaviour support + restrictive practice implementation
* Are confident working alone, but responsive and collaborative when needed
* Can drive participants (vehicle access and licence essential)
* Communicate clearly and kindly in English, both verbally and in reports
* Bring a growth mindset and take pride in delivering exceptional care
* Are passionate about positive change, especially when it's overdue
Other Essential Requirements
* A current Police Check
* A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Minimum 2 years' experience in support work
* Certificate III in Disability (or equivalent qualification)
* Driver's licence and willingness to drive participants
* Demonstrated experience in similar high-support roles (we must verify this with a professional reference via a company email + trial shift)
* Confidence in completing clear and efficient documentation (will be verified by a trial shift)
What We're Offering:
* A warm, respectful and professional team environment
* Flexible casual shifts with limited notice (must be highly reliable)
* Opportunity to be part of an intentional advocacy journey
* Real impact: your accurate reporting and compassionate care will directly support the push for increased funding for someone who truly needs it
