As a mechanical engineering diesel fitter apprentice, you will embark on a comprehensive journey to master the art of mobile plant machinery repair and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough inspections and servicing of plant equipment
* Diagnostics and repairs for braking and steering systems
* Inspect, service, and diagnose cooling systems, emissions systems, and air-conditioning systems
* Maintain tools and equipment in optimal condition
* Assist with light fabrication work and utilize hand and power tools
* Ensure workshops and surrounding areas are tidy and well-organized
* Accurately record daily data on plant usage, labor, and materials
Mandatory Requirements:
* Passion for mechanics and a strong foundation in mathematical concepts
* Construction White Card (can be obtained online prior to commencement)
* Self-motivation and a willingness to learn
* Reliable attitude and positive mindset
* Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
* Flexibility to work day and night shifts as required
* Competent numeracy and literacy skills
* Completion of Year 10 High School Certificate
* Ability to complete TAFE studies within a reasonable timeframe and achieve satisfactory results
