We are seeking volunteers who can provide companionship and support to children and young people in care. This rewarding role involves building a positive relationship with your allocated child or young person, engaging in activities they enjoy, and helping them develop new skills and confidence.
The Independent Visitor service provides a unique opportunity for volunteers to make a long-term commitment to supporting a child or young person. With full training and support provided, you will be matched with a child or young person who shares similar interests and needs. Together, you will plan activities that promote their emotional well-being, social development, and independence.
As an Independent Visitor, you will have the freedom to choose how you spend time with your allocated child or young person. You may engage in various activities such as sports, creative pursuits, or simply spending quality time together. You will be expected to visit your allocated child or young person at least once a month, although this frequency may vary depending on their needs and preferences.
