General Mill Worker (Rollingstock) - Loco Shed
Summary of Position
This permanent role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor – Locomotives and supports both trade and non-trade staff in the Rollingstock team to achieve strong safety, quality, and productivity outcomes.
We're seeking someone who enjoys a systems-driven, continuous-improvement environment and values teamwork and reliability. In this full-time position, you'll assist with maintaining Mackay Sugars' diesel-hydraulic locomotive fleet, including completing work orders, cleaning rollingstock, maintaining workshops, isolation and tagging, and operating overhead cranes (training provided). The role also involves working at heights and in hot, humid conditions, with flexibility required for rotating shifts, weekend work, and overtime.
Job Requirements
* Manual Drivers Licence
* It is also preferred that you hold or be willing to obtain licences/qualifications for the below:
* Forklift (LF) and Dogger (DG)
* Working At Heights
* Previous Roles in the Rail Industry will be highly regarded
* Previous Roles working in similar position as a T.A./Service Person on Mobile Plant
