**MARKETING OFFICER ROLE OUTLINE**
**Objective**: This role seeks to offer expert guidance in crafting and executing marketing activities pertinent to the Council's policies. This involves research, formulating advertising and marketing campaigns, and preparing promotional initiatives. Moreover, the officer will provide strategic insights and aid in developing both internal and external marketing agendas for various branches.

- **Internal Interactions**: Mayor, Councillors, CEO, Directors, Managers, and other staff.
- **External Interactions**: Public, community groups, businesses, and governmental bodies.

**Specific Responsibilities**:
- Oversee Council marketing activities.
- Craft and execute marketing and communication strategies aligned with Council goals.
- Offer strategic marketing advice to different Council branches.
- Liaise with external agencies as necessary.
- Be a proponent of change within the marketing strategy and broader Council.
- Recognize and act upon promotional opportunities through digital marketing, events, etc.
- Ensure the implementation of policies related to Community Engagement and Marketing.
- Undertake any other task commensurate with the employee's skill set.
**Authority & Accountability**: This role, under general guidance, has the autonomy to lead designated projects within well-defined practices, working with transparent objectives.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Track record in best practice marketing.
- Updated knowledge of marketing trends and best practices.
- Significant experience in a marketing position.
- Exceptional communication skills, with cross-cultural competency. Asian language proficiency is a bonus.
- Ability to handle politically sensitive situations.
- Strategic thinking and alignment with corporate goals.
- Adaptability to change.
- A degree in Marketing or Communications is a plus.
**Position Progression**: Progressing from Level 4 to Level 5 is based on experience, obtaining a relevant degree, and demonstrated competency.
**Position Alteration**: The role's specifics might undergo periodic changes as per Logan City's evolving organizational structure, always ensuring discussions with the incumbent.
