YFS are looking for a skilled professional who can think outside the box to join our men’s behaviour change team.
As the Women’s Advocate you will work alongside a men’s behaviour change program to provide support to those who have experienced violence and abuse.
Through advocacy, support and information you will enhance the safety and well-being of victim-survivors and resource them to thrive in a future free of violence and abuse.

About the job
Role location: Jimboomba – our Jimboomba office is only 40 minutes from Logan and Springfield and a one-hour drive from the Gold Coast
Role type: Permanent Full Time, 5 days per week
Pay range: $101,106 a year, with salary packaging exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax available
You will:
* Provide emotional and practical support to address issues arising for those who have experienced abuse during a man’s time on the program.
* Identify and assess risk and resource women to develop and follow their safety plans.
* Link women and children to relevant services to address health, parenting, financial, employment support, legal, and other counselling needs.
* Work closely with Behaviour Change Facilitators to enable on-going assessment of risk and safety.

About you
Aside from meeting the key capabilities outlined in the related role description link below, ideally you will bring an understanding of gendered violence, a team approach to enhancing the safety of women and children, a deep understanding of the impacts of domestic abuse, reflective practice and cultural awareness.
