About the Role This senior leadership role will be overseeing the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of a comprehensive framework for occupational health and safety, WorkCover claims management, industrial relations issues and return-to-work processes. Duties Some of the responsibilities will involve; Develop and drive the implementation of a WHS and employee wellbeing framework that aligns with the organisation's core values, risk profile, and legal obligations. Implement and sustain WHS policies, procedures, and systems that meet the requirements of the organisation Lead the management of WHS risk systems across the organisation, including identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, and analysing root causes. Oversee the full lifecycle of WorkCover claims, from initial lodgement to ongoing communication with insurers and injured staff, while managing all required documentation. Serve as the organisation's Return-to-Work Coordinator, designing and tracking individualised RTW plans that prioritise early intervention and support long-term, successful workplace reintegration. Provide expert advice on safety-related IR issues and investigations Skills & Experience Previous experience in WHS role at management level. Proven ability to develop, implement and maintain WHS Strong knowledge of Victorian OHS and workers' compensation legislation Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills Previous experience in establishing WHS and IR systems. A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organisational Psychology, or a related field. Return-to-Work Certification, or a commitment to obtain it within six months. Continuous professional development related to WHS and/or industrial relations.
