We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in water/wastewater treatment processes, hydraulic modeling, permitting, and construction administration.
* Assist in the design of water and wastewater treatment systems, pump stations, and utility infrastructure
* Perform engineering calculations, hydraulic modeling, and process design
* Prepare technical reports, design drawings, and construction specifications
* Support permitting efforts and regulatory compliance documentation
* Participate in project meetings, field investigations, and construction site visits
* Collaborate closely with project managers, senior engineers, and other technical staff
* Help track project progress, budgets, and schedules
About the Role
This is a hybrid role based out of our Charlotte, North Carolina office. As a Project Engineer, you will contribute to the planning, design, and management of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, distribution, and collection systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project execution, developing process designs, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
You will work closely with our experienced team to deliver sustainable and resilient water infrastructure solutions.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field
* Licensed Professional Engineer
* 4+ years of experience in treatment design and infrastructure projects
* Proficiency in hydraulic modeling, treatment process design, pump station design, and utility infrastructure
* Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently
* Handle multiple tasks under pressure and prioritize responsibilities
* Exhibit leadership in planning and/or design concepts and methods
* Ability to successfully manage all internal aspects of projects/project tasks
* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail; excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability and willingness to mentor and lead technical staff
