We're excited to welcome a Clinical Nurse to our Ophthalmology Outpatient Service.The Ophthalmology Clinical Nurse (CN) is responsible for leading and delivering person-centred nursing care at an advanced level.
The CN is expected to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinic decision-making.
They have the responsibility for professional leadership in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 and to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.In accordance with the Specialist Outpatient Services Implementation Standard (SOSIS), the CN manages referral streaming, ophthalmology waitlists, clinic management, and provides advice and support to nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team (MDT).

We uphold human rights in our decision-making and actions.Key Responsibilities include:Practising according to the code of ethics, professional standards, and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within the scope of the position.Providing clinical oversight and direction for all staff and MDT within the Ophthalmology Outpatient Service.Fulfilling role responsibilities in accordance with Sunshine Coast Health Values.Supporting quality human resource management practices, including employment equity, anti-discrimination, work health and safety, and ethical behaviour.Remuneration is up to $97,606 per annum, comprising a salary between $107,960 and $115,604 per annum (full-time), or hourly rates of $54.44 to $58.30.
This includes employer superannuation contributions (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%).
This is a Nurse Grade 6 (permanent part-time, 56 hours per fortnight) position.
