**About the Company**
At Ashdown People we are keen on giving back to the community but especially during this difficult period. Ashdown is exclusively partnering with The Children's Tumour Foundation on a probono basis to help them find a Support Services Coordinator for a 12 Month Contract.
The Children's Tumour Foundation (CTF) is the only dedicated support service for families impacted by Neurofibromatosis (NF) in Australia. Their mission is to provide hope for everyone impacted by Neurofibromatosis in Australia by advocating for change, advancing research and empowering this community with the knowledge, connections and support at every stage of their journey.
Conquering NF is about more than just finding a cure.
**About the team**
The team are a small group of enthusiastic who are dedicated to raising money to fund vital research, awareness and practical support for people with all types of NF.
**About the Role**
We are currently seeking to appoint a Support Services Coordinator to provide empathetic and client focused services, including responsibilities for
existing programs as well as developing and executing new programs and project initiatives that meet the needs of
the NF community.
Key accountabilities include:
- Assisting in the facilitation of existing group programs including
- NF Connect, Peer Leader Support, Parenting Programs and CTF Webinars and new programs as they are developed
- Assisting in the CTF's delivery of state-based family camps
- Assisting in the delivery of the CTF's annual NF Symposium and Community Information Seminar
- Attending other Support and Fundraising events as required
- Developing content to build on existing educational resources and materials
- Developing strong working relationships with NF Clinics, health services and clinicians
- Actively engaging with a range of community organisations including government, non-government, heath, education, disability and social services
- Assisting the Children's Tumour Foundation's role in research, policy and advocacy initiatives
- Undertaking ad-hoc projects and other activities relevant to the role's key accountabilities as approved by Head of Support
**About You**
- Relevant qualifications in a health-related field, such as Genetic Counselling, Nursing, Allied Health, Health Promotion, Social Work, Community Services and or Counselling
- Two or more years relevant experience working in a health/disability related role (health promotion/charity/chronic medical conditions preferred)
- Experience providing face to face and technology based (telephone and/or online platforms) support to individuals and families within a health context
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
