About This Role
* Supervise and coordinate small-scale construction projects ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
* Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, including staff and management.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead operational staff to ensure smooth execution of daily tasks and projects.
* Oversee the installation, maintenance, and renewal of Townsville City Council open space assets.
* Collaborate with team members to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
Requirements
* Current QLD Working with Children Blue Card (mandatory).
* A valid Manual C-class driver's licence with the ability to obtain an MR driver's licence.
* Construction Industry White Card 30215 QLD (essential).
* Certificate III in Horticulture or significant experience managing on-ground operational crews.
* Demonstrated experience leading personnel in infrastructure construction related to parks and open spaces.
* Experience with conducting basic survey and set-out tasks.
* Familiarity with concrete laying and finishing techniques.
* Detailed knowledge of construction materials and their applications.
* Ability to apply Quality Assurance processes in civil construction environments.
Desirable Qualifications
* Certificate upon successful completion of Safe Working Near Live Exposed Parts training.
* Senior First Aid Certificate.
* Traffic Management Implementation accreditation under the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices Part 3 2016.
* Trade-based background preferably in construction landscape or carpentry.
* Cert III Construction Landscape qualification.
* Knowledge of Australian Playground Safety Standards AS4685:2021.
* Prior experience with installing and maintaining play equipment and park assets.
