Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide expert over‑the‑phone technical support to technicians and customers.
- Parts Coordination: Liaise with the parts department and customers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of required parts.
- Field Breakdown Management: Attend field breakdowns, troubleshoot and repair equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
- Product Updates & Bulletins: Coordinate product updates and service bulletins to maintain safety and reliability.
- Reporting: Complete and submit service reports in a timely manner after repairs.
- Communication: Work with factories and service teams to provide feedback on repairs, failures, and diagnostics.
- Pre‑Delivery Inspections: Organize inspections and familiarisation sessions for new machines, ensuring any additional requirements are met before delivery.
- Warranty Troubleshooting: Analyse and troubleshoot warranty issues that are beyond the scope of distributors or customers.
- Training: Provide training to distributors on the commissioning of new products.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: At least 5 years in technical service and support, preferably in the crane or heavy equipment industry.
- Specialised Knowledge: OEM or dealer experience, with a solid background in heavy equipment servicing.
- Qualifications: Trade certificate in Mechanical or Electrical fields, with advanced diagnostic skills in automotive, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Problem Solving: Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to interpret and work with electronic and hydraulic schematics.
- Self‑Motivated: Able to manage your time effectively and work independently.
- Industry‑Specific Experience: Specialist training or experience in the crane industry, or with Manitowoc cranes, is highly advantageous.
