An opportunity to join a highly regarded Australian organisation and lead the finance operations team in the delivery of accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking services to achieve corporate objectives, driving operational excellence and ensuring strong operational and financial control and governance. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract with a possibility of extension. The role is based in the city fringe as offers a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations Services and Projects
* Lead the delivery of accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking services for the business. Ensure appropriate governance and controls are in-place and operating effectively.
* Actively review operations to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement changes as required.
* Provide advice and training to the broader business on technical issues, particularly around bank account setup, operation and control.
* Lead the delivery of the Treasury back-office function.
* Support the Finance & Operations team and management with ad hoc reporting, analysis and other work requests.
Stakeholder Management and Communications
* Develop and maintain effective communication and relationships with key managers and maintain up to date understanding of their business needs and priorities.
* Maintain effective communication with colleagues to share information, keep abreast of relevant issues/ developments across the corporation and ensure alignment within the team.
* Ensure information relating to finance operations services and processes is communicated in a clear, timely and appropriate way with the Finance team and the broader business.
Leadership & Management of People
* Lead the team of finance operations professionals ensuring their skills, expertise and potential are utilised effectively to service business needs.
* Encourage innovation & improve ways of working to ensure knowledge and experience is shared.
* Build a capable and motivated team by ensuring that people are managed and developed effectively to meet current and future needs of the division.
* Actively promote the company's values and apply all relevant workplace policies and guidelines.
* Cooperate with any reasonable instruction, procedure or policy relating to safety and take reasonable care for your own safety and that of other people who may be affected by your conduct while at work. Additional WHS responsibilities apply to Managers and Supervisors, Team Directors, and other Officers.
Key Capabilities and Qualifications
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in accountancy and membership of a recognised accounting body. Project management qualifications or experience desirable.
* Proven high level leadership skills with an ability to work in a flexible team-based environment, communicate a sense of direction and guide others towards objectives.
* Demonstrated high-level analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think strategically and manage change processes.
* Proven ability to plan and effectively manage projects and stakeholders in a multi-disciplined environment, utilising a variety of change and project management methodologies.
* Demonstrate an innovative approach to work, exemplifying professionalism, energy and drive to deliver solutions that make a difference.
* Demonstrated effective communication skills with the ability to tailor style effectively to audience.
