We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Accounting Officer to join our team! The Accounting Officer is responsible for managing the financial transactions and records of the organisation in compliance with Australian legislation. This includes maintaining accurate financial data, preparing financial reports, processing invoices and payments, and ensuring compliance with taxation and financial regulations. The Accounting Officer will work closely with the finance team and management to provide accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making processes. Main Duties Examining operating costs and organisations’ income and expenditure Conduct regular and accurate financial data analysis into the accounting system and Approvals portal. Data verification from the Approval portal. Introducing and maintaining accounting systems such as ISCALA, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems SISAP, Ipartek y SISPC Maintaining internal control systems ISCALA. Liaise with other departments to understand their financial requirements and provide necessary information. Maintain a good relationship with internal stakeholders and vendors. Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as suppliers and subcontractors, to resolve financial queries and issues. Assisting in the management of Accounts Payable email accounts. Assist with a backlog of Accounts Payable invoices and team. Coordinate and liaise with project administrators and project managers regarding Accounts Payable. Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and Australian legislation. Stay up to date with changes in accounting standards, taxation laws, and regulations. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures. Process invoices, receipts, and payments in a timely manner. Review and verify expense claims, reimbursements, and travel expenses. Monitor and reconcile supplier’s ledger accounts monthly. Assist with ad hoc requirements and general administrative duties. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Previous experience in accounting or an equivalent position. Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and legislation. Proficient in using accounting software, such as MYOB, Xero, SISAP, Ipartek and SISPC.
