Border Express currently has multiple exciting opportunities available for experienced and motivatedForklift Operators to join the team on PM shifts at our Cranbourne branch.
These shifts will be predominately loading our linehaul fleet and moving of freight around the depot.
Shift times are approx:
PM: 4.00pm - 9.00pm - Monday To Friday
Hours are approximate and may be longer during peak time depending on volume
These positions are responsible for the safe and effective movement of freight within the branch as well as loading of our interstate trailers.
Success in this position will be measured when Delivered In Full On Time (DIFOT) targets are met and a safe workplace is actively demonstrated. This is a front line position, which requires a high level of communication, professionalism and customer service to be applied consistently every day.
Duties:
* Undertake safe and effective loading, unloading, movement, restraint and storage of freight as required;
* Take additional care with freight to ensure there are no damages;
* Always check load restraint, packaging and the condition of freight before it travels;
* Report all damages to freight or forklift to your supervisor immediately;
* Ensure all pallet paperwork and Dangerous Goods paperwork is checked and completed accurately;
* Ensure that there are no Dangerous Goods compatibility issues when loading and unloading;
Skills and Experience:
* Experiencein the transport industry
* A valid Forklift Licenceis essential
* Minimum of 2 years experience operating a forklift operator with linehaul loading experience advantageous.
* Ability to adhere to WHS and Safety Regulations
* Excellent attitude, a good work ethic and reliability
* A high level of physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive lifting
* Great local knowledge of Melbourne and surrounding areas
* Ability to work unsupervised
