About the Opportunity William Clarke College is seeking a suitably qualified Assistant Head of Music to join our friendly and highly regarded team. You will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of the College’s co-curricular Music program so that students flourish through high-quality ensemble experiences, rehearsals, performances and events that reflect the College’s Christ-centred purpose. Reporting to the Head of Faculty and working collaboratively with the Director of Co-Curricular, the role supports the Director of Music to realise a coherent, student-centred program from Preparatory to Year 12 and contributes to teaching and learning as directed. This is a permanent full-time position commencing in Term 2, 2026 About You Demonstrated success leading school-based co-curricular music, including ensembles, concerts and tours. Excellence as a classroom practitioner with the ability to teach to Higher School Certificate level. Strong event and production capability, including run sheets, stage management and logistics. Confident user of music and scheduling systems with the ability to learn new platforms quickly. Appropriate teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation Clear written and verbal communication with a professional and empathetic style. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlines. Ability to build collaboration, give and receive feedback, and address difficult conversations constructively. Ability to lead through influence and coordinate contractors and peripatetic tutors in line with College expectations.
