* Band 8: Salary range $122,701 to $137,129 + 12% Superannuation

We're looking for a highly motivated and qualified building surveyor to lead our skilled Building and Planning Compliance team. Bringing strong knowledge of building legislation and a commitment to customer‑focused outcomes, you’ll balance effective enforcement with practical solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring building works are carried out in accordance with State Building and Planning Acts and Regulations, and Council Local Laws and Policies.
* Leading the Building and Planning Compliance team to deliver high-quality, customer-focused services.
* Providing regulatory advice and working collaboratively with all stakeholders.
* Completing inspections and maintaining record-keeping for all building activities.
* Managing the Building and Planning Compliance annual budget allocation.
* Providing leadership and advice in relation to strategic direction, policy development, service levels and standards regarding building issues.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful for this role you'll bring:
* Suitable tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying or equivalent and substantial professional experience in Building Surveying or equivalent.
* Extensive knowledge of and proven ability to interpret and enforce relevant building control legislation.
* Strong and comprehensive knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations, Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards.
* Experience in inspection of building work in a wide variety of classes of building.
* Excellent customer service ethic and ability to mediate satisfactory enforcement and compliance outcomes.
