About the role: Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, this role will provide direct person centred nursing care and/or individual case management to patients/clients on a shift-by-shift basis in the Oncology/Haematology ward at Flinders Medical Centre. Duties for the role will include: Participate in quality improvement activities that contribute to patient/client safety, risk minimisation and safe work activities within the practice setting Provide, with increasing capacity over time, support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing basic nursing care Provide health promotion and education, to patients/clients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of individuals Support nursing practice and learning experiences for students undertaking clinical placements, orientation for new staff and preceptorship of graduates Why this role is for you: This role is more than just a position - it's a chance to make a real impact by: Clinical Innovation: Using your specialised skills to provide the latest Oncology and Haematology treatment. Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Tertiary qualifications relevant to Oncology and Haematology Nursing e.g. Graduate Diploma or working towards is highly desirable and willingness to undertake is supported. Please note that this position is multi-classed as either a RNM1 or RNM2C and classification will be determined by qualifications and experience. To be considered for the RN2C (Clinical Nurse) level you must have at least three years, full time equivalent, post registration experience with experience in anticancer treatments and leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.
