Scientific Coordinator Role
This position is a cornerstone member in a small team that coordinates the work of scientists across various departments. The successful candidate will champion this critical set of work and be based in Canberra at our headquarters.
We are expanding our presence in HQJOC to provide a program which enhances Joint Operations capability and mission. Our vision is to understand operational needs, strengthen relationships, and have effective delivery mechanisms.
The team's objectives include:
* To understand the planning, sustainment, development, and operational aspects of the headquarters.
* To assist with identifying and developing JOC S&T requirements.
* To elicit and interpret JOC's research priorities through a strong understanding of the strategic context and capability needs.
* To foster the relationship between our department and JOC.
Your communication skills should be suited to interacting with diverse stakeholders including senior military members, scientists, government officials, and APS personnel. You will be action-oriented and passionate about achieving Defence outcomes.
You will have deep experience in understanding the JOC's strategic mission and articulating how science and technology is central to achieving this mission. Your ability to communicate complex ideas will enable you to make a significant impact in this role.
