This role will contribute to the high quality, efficient and cost-effective Specimen Reception service at the Ipswich Hospital Laboratory in a diverse multi-skilled role. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing a broad range of pre-analytical procedures from simple to complex consistently and accurately. Maintain professional attitude, work with integrity, comply with expected ethical and behavioural standards, respect patient's confidentiality and know the importance of accurate patient information. Demonstrated high level skills, or ability to rapidly acquire high level skills, in the use of the laboratory information system (AUSLAB) and the integrated electronic Medical Record system (ieMR). Demonstrated knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge of the importance of standard precautions and safety requirements in dealing with biological specimens. Well-developed interpersonal skills including respectful behaviour, cooperation, and the ability to communicate effectively and work productively in a team environment. Proven ability to solve problems and show initiative in the workplace. Proven ability to manage time effectively in a highly process driven environment with competing priorities.
