The Acute Team Leader has operational responsibility for a team of 16 FTE Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants, and students providing physiotherapy services to Emergency Department (including primary contact practitioners and home visiting for aged patients), musculoskeletal outpatients, orthopaedics and trauma, pelvic and women's health, lymphoedema and hand therapy.
This position combines clinical, operational and leadership responsibilities. The Team Leader will have extensive skills and experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, orthopaedics and/or emergency.
The Physiotherapy Department has three Team Leaders, forming an integral leadership relationship with the Head of Department, contributing equally to the planning and management across the department's physiotherapy service. The Team Leader will work closely with the seniors in neurology, rehabilitation and aged care to lead, guide and manage the team.

Selection Criteria
* Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning.
* Extensive post graduate clinical experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, orthopaedics and/or emergency physiotherapy.
* Demonstrated ability to provide high level of guidance, leadership and management of resources and services equivalent to the complexities of the role.
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
* Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and demonstrate application of evidence based practice within their clinical area.
* Negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Current drivers licence (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
